Vintage artisan necklace handcrafted with natural carnelian quartz (orange chalcedony variety) and nephrite jade gemstone beads. The warm orange tones of the carnelian quartz beautifully complement the rich green jade, each bead separated by oxidized sterling silver spacers and two detailed silver rose accents.
It closes with a hand-wrought sterling silver hook clasp wrapped in coiled wire, a style often seen in artisan jewelry from the late 1970s to early 1990s. The metal has not been polished, preserving its original patina that adds depth and character to the overall design.
While unmarked, the metal components have been acid tested and confirmed to be sterling silver. Gemstones were tested with a Presidium Gem Tester II and visually examined, with results consistent with carnelian quartz (orange chalcedony variety) and nephrite jade.
It measures approximately 19 inches long and weighs 36.8 grams.
