The IER-Z1R you've hoped for. Great!
Research before buying for what to expect. Niche and heirloom quality. These were for special occasions. If I could guess, under two dozen time did I ever use them, and not for long. I was so worried something might ever happen to them that I handled them extraordinarily carefully. The sounds they can reproduce are unreal. The ability to put you into a cathedral type of listening experience, if you have a high end setup which can match them.
I would wager they will be the closest thing to "new" on the second hand market place. They also include a high end DD HiFi 4.4mm to 3.5mm BALANCED adapter!
I bought this very expensive adapter which was hard to get, because for whatever reason the 3.5mm cable became sticky for some random reason. And oddly, the 4.4mm cable never had this happen. I include the 3.5mm cable in spite of this.
Either way you can bring your preferred MMCX cable for further improved performance. And the tips too.
